Can Witchcraft Help With Fitness?
Ahhhhh, all powerful witches. So mystical. So resourceful. So many candles.
Can all those spells and potions make me fit af?
Well, no...and yes.
I truly don't think that the craft could take you from squatting 200 pounds one day, to 600 pounds overnight.
And the craft won't facilitate losing 100 pounds in a hot minute, either.
No...the only path to those goals (or whichever goals you've set) are patience and consistency, and discipline. Work, work, work.
However, that doesn't mean that we can't consult with the craft to help us keep patient, stay consistent, and build discipline.
Let's explore how, with a little case study, featuring a fictional witch woman we'll name, "Ursula".
Ursula is a witch who has set a SMART goal to lose weight and improve her fitness. Let's say she wants to lose 20 pounds in the next 12 months. She's calculated the daily calories and macros she needs to stick to for fat loss. She has a training program that prescribes that she lifts weights 3 times a week, and gets 3 cardio sessions a week. Ursula is confident that she knows what needs to be done, and she's motivated.
But Ursula knows that motivation is what gets you started; discipline is what keeps you going. She decides that she wants to get some insight into what is in store on this adventure.
Ursula feels that her tarot cards will be a good place to start, in order to get some perspective on what some challenges and victories will be as she works towards her goals.

There are some important things to note about the process detailed in the infographic here.
Many folks scoff at the idea of magick being a thing; but I assure you, it is.
What it isn't, is a person in with a fancy hat sawing another person in half.
It is, however, manipulation of energy in order to achieve a desired outcome. Magick!
Manifestation is just this; stating and intention (goal), visualizing that intention, writing it down (making it concrete), and then deciding that it will be (believing that the outcome is already yours).
In Ursula's example (regarding fitness and nutrition), it looks a little like this:
1) Visualizing herself, 20 pounds lighter.
2) Writing down "I will lose 20 pounds through healthy eating and exercise." It is so important that this is specific! 20 pounds can be "lost" any number of ways, and it would be unfortunate for Ursula to lose a leg weighing 20 pounds, right?
3) Pull the first card for a feel as to whether the goal is reasonable in the parameters Ursula is setting for herself.
4) Outlining her goal in SMART terms, Ursula writes down the following:
Specific - lose 20 pounds through healthy diet and exercise.
Measurable - daily weigh-ins to track in fluctuations and weight trends over the next 12 months.
Attainable - Losing 20 pounds over a year is a reasonable goal to set. It's not guaranteed - it might take more or less time. Ursula recognizes that she is not in a race for this. But 20 pounds over 12 months averages to losing about a pound and a half a month; this is a safe and attainable goal.
Realistic - Ursula knows that she is giving herself a safe timeline to build habits and routines that will aid her in achieving her goal. As mentioned above, a pound and a half a month is absolutely realistic, and so Ursula can check this one off.
Timeline - Ursula is giving herself 12 months. Plenty of time to make small sustainable changes, build new habits, track efforts that might not be working for her, and make adaptations in those cases.
5) Ursula pulls more cards to gain perspective on potential obstacles and influences that will help her on her journey.
6) Ursula feels confident that she is on a sustainable path to her goal. She announces it confidently to the universe, claps her hands, and goes to make herself a 2 egg omelette topped with salsa, because manifestation is hard freaking work, and it builds an appetite!!!
Because motivation is what gets the ball rolling, but discipline is what keeps that ball going, Ursula decides that she will dedicate a reading to feeling out how her goal pursuit is going, once a month. That way, she can tap into the cards to pick up on influences that are coming down the pipe, so to speak. This will aid Ursula in planning immediate next steps. It also helps her keep confidence up, since a little guidance goes a long way when it comes to keeping disciplined and patient!
Only Ursula's efforts and time will tell if she meets her goal, but in the end, it's not about being "done". It's about the lessons we learn and what we take away from these lessons as we work our way towards the goals we set for ourselves.
Remember, the beauty is in the journey, not in the trophy at the end of the road.
Hail yourselves!
